英国博士费用多大？
在2017年之前，申请到PSW工作签证的机会还是比较大的（除了Tier 1 企业家移民），虽然相对硕士来说读博的费用偏高一些，但可以获得永久居留权；不过从17年开始，政府为了限制留学生数量，大幅提高了获得永居的难度（对博士学位的要求更是水涨船高），甚至出现了对来自某几个国家学生的歧视性政策（如：对伊朗学生无限期拒绝发放签证）。
因此在17年以后，如果考虑将来留在英国的话，读博的性价比就没有硕士高了（毕竟硕士毕业也可以留下来找工作）——虽然读完博士也能拿3年的毕业生签证（Post-study），但是毕业找到工作后，再想拿永居基本没戏了。 在17年以前，对于中国留学生来说，一般来说申请硕士或博士的学费相差不大（4万—5万英镑/年）。如果是学工科（如Electrical & Electronic Engineering）、商科（如Finance， Accounting and Business Studies）或是医学类的专业，那么博士比硕士多出来的学费一般在3万左右英镑；但如果是学习文科（如English Language & Literature， History etc.）或者法律（Law），则一般硕士要比博士多出来2万多英镑的学费。
PhD tuition fee： £8，607 (2019-20) PhD funding： UKRI will pay your tuition fees for the first year of study. For subsequent years they will pay a contribution based on whether you are studying full-time or part-time. In order to be eligible for this payment， your research project must be eligible for EPSRC grant funding.
MPhil tuition fee：£3，825 (2019-20) MPhil funding： There is no specific funding available for MPhil students in UK universities， but some institutions may have their own internal funding schemes that can provide financial support. You should discuss this with the Head of your Department.
For both PhD and Mphil degrees， any course where the majority of the learning is undertaken outside of direct contact with the University will incur additional costs. These include distance learning courses， professional and vocational degrees， Open University， short courses and continuing education units.
Additional Costs：
International students are required to pay an immigration health surcharge to cover medical expenses that might arise during their stay in the UK. The current rate is £624 per annum.
Students who wish to work while studying in the UK must apply for a working holiday visa. This costs £348 and gives you permission to live and work in the country for up to six months.
