墨尔本是东几区？
墨尔本的市中心所在的区叫做Melbourne ，而整个城市被分成了8个区域（local government area），分别是： 其中，Hancock和Moorabbin这2个地区位于维州西南角，靠近南澳州边境，因为地理位置比较偏僻所以被归为西九时区（Western Nine）；而其余6个区域则都被划为东八区（Eastern Eight）。
每个区域的邮政编码开头数字是不一样的：
Melbourne 3000-3014 (包括墨尔本中心商务区)
Carlton 3053-3060
Port Phillip 3079-3096
Boroondara 3127-3148
Glen Eira 3189-3205
Maribyrnong 3054-3064
Moreland 3065-3092
Yarra 3104-3116
Hancock and Moorabbin are on the far west of Melbourne， so they're a little bit different from the other areas. In fact their postal codes start with 3975， indicating that they're in the Western Australian Territory rather than Victoria State (or Australia for that matter)！

The centre of Melbourne is in the eastern part of Boroughs of Yarra and Moreland——the two boroughs make up the central business district or CBD.
As you can see the CBD covers quite an area， and I live right next to it in Northcote.
I would say that most of Melbourne's suburbs are quite spread out but there are a few exceptions， such as Carlton and Port Phillip——which have high density housing and seem very ‘city’.
There are also some inner suburbia neighborhoods which are quite isolated from the rest of the city， and these include Fitzroy、Collingwood 和 Clifton Hill.
A lot of people move to Melbourne thinking that it will be like living in Sydney， but once they get here they discover it's not really like that at all.
In my opinion Melbourne has more in common with London， while Sydney seems much more like New York City.
